Patients with astigmatism and high refractive errors may have experienced challenges with contact lenses in the past, or thought that contact lens wear wasn’t possible for them. Now, after much anticipation, CooperVision is delighted to launch its monthly Biofinity® XR toric lens to allow even more patients to benefit from the advanced design of Biofinity® contact lenses.
The introduction of a toric lens means a broader range of patients can now take advantage of Biofinity’s high oxygen permeability and all-day comfort.
“Biofinity® XR toric contact lenses bring the proven comfort, clarity and stable fit* of the Biofinity® brand to people who may otherwise not have the opportunity to experience the benefits of silicone hydrogel wear,” said Guy Whittaker, Vice President of Global Marketing, CooperVision. “With our commitment to developing and manufacturing these unique lenses, eye care practitioners can fit a greater number of patients in silicone hydrogels, keeping pace with the widespread move to this healthier material.”
Featuring a consistent fitting approach with other Biofinity® toric lenses means there’s no additional learning curve when fitting your high prescription patients.
Biofinity® XR Toric is available in sphere powers from -6.00D to -10.00D (0.50D steps), -6.00D to +6.00D (0.25D steps), with cylinder powers from -2.75 to -5.75 (0.50 steps) and an axis of 5 degrees to 180 degrees in 5-degree steps, and +8.50D to +10.00D with cylinder powers from -0.75 to -2.25 (0.50 steps).
