Taking place in Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester at the beginning of February, the recent series of ‘Ready for Today’ events was planned to help demonstrate how silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses can benefit patients with demanding lifestyles.
Each event featured the opportunity for delegates to place their votes as to whether they would be likely to prescribe silicone hydrogel daily disposable lenses for new or existing wearers. Voting prior to the events’ presentations, an average of 48% of delegates said that they would prescribe silicone hydrogel daily disposables for new wearers and 39% said the same for existing wearers. However, after listening to Philip Morgan’s presentation entitled ‘Stepping up to the demands of today’s contact lens wearers’ and taking part in subsequent group discussions, votes increased significantly to 66% and 54% respectively, demonstrating a clear shift in perception.
