CooperVision expands MyDay® toric parameters with plus sphere powers
Contact lens manufacturer now boasts the widest spherical power range of any daily disposable toric lens.[i]
Southampton, United Kingdom, 22 March 2018 — Today CooperVision has expanded its MyDay® toric parameters with plus sphere powers, enabling eye care professionals to fit an even greater number of patients in CooperVision’s softest ever one-day silicone hydrogel lens. MyDay® toric now boasts a range of +6.00DS to -10.00DS, in ten axes, across three cylinder powers, and six axes in the highest cylinder power.
MyDay® toric is an advanced high performance lens that eye care professionals can use to help further build their practices by giving patients with astigmatism a soft, comfortable lens-wearing experience with the lens stability and visual acuity they have come to expect from CooperVision’s toric lenses. MyDay® toric features the same groundbreaking Optimised Toric Lens Geometry™ found in Biofinity® toric, providing uniform horizontal ISO thickness, an optimised ballast band design, large toric optic zone and a smooth, continuous surface to make it an easy-to-fit, stable toric lens.

Smart Silicone™ chemistry is the technology at the heart of the MyDay® family. The breathable material of MyDay® toric allows 100 per cent corneal consumption, and is complemented by a modulus of just 0.4 MPa, and high water content making it CooperVision’s softest ever silicone hydrogel one-day contact lens. The lens also incorporates built-in UV protection that filters 85% of UVA and 96% of UVB rays*.
From today the new parameter range is available in plano to -6.00D (0.25 steps), -6.00 to -10.00D and plano to +6.00D (0.50 steps) with cylinder options of -0.75D, -1.25D, and -1.75D in axes of 10°, 20°, 70°, 80°, 90°, 100°, 110°, 160°, 170°, and 180° and -2.25 in axes of 10°, 20°, 90°, 160°, 170°, and 180°. MyDay® toric lenses have a base curve of 8.6mm and a diameter of 14.5mm.
