Southampton, United Kingdom, 8 May 2018 — In today’s fast-paced world, the time practitioners share with patients is precious, which is why CooperVision is today launching a competition to underline the value of chair time and celebrate the difference practitioners  can make in unlocking a patient’s potential. Whether it’s to boost confidence, find that perfect fitting lens or allow a child to fully participate in sport, ‘Stories from the Chair’ is a nationwide search to find the most inspiring contact lens stories and share them with the rest of the industry.

CooperVision is welcoming stories where contact lenses have been fitted and will bring the ten best anecdotes to life in a series of short video case studies to be shared with the optical community at events, online and via social media. Practitioners can submit a short summary of their story, with patients able to remain completely anonymous, via the CooperVision website before Sunday 1st July 2018*.

Commenting on the competition, CooperVision’s Senior Marketing Manager for the UK & Ireland, Lara Drury, said: “We know that there are some incredibly inspiring stories out there where contact lenses have allowed a patient to achieve great things. Whether it’s in sport, overcoming insecurity or just making life that little bit better, we want to unearth these and share them with the rest of the industry as a reminder of the amazing things our profession can achieve and the importance of taking that extra little bit of time with patients in the chair.

“It’s also a great opportunity for practitioners to boost their own industry profile, as well as that of their practice. Being heralded as an example of best in class is a fantastic achievement and showcases exactly how rewarding, both professionally and personally, it can be to dramatically improve someone’s quality of life. We look forward to hearing everyone’s stories!”

The Stories from the Chair competition is running from 7 May – 1 July 2018, after which a CooperVision judging panel will select the ten best submissions to be filmed. For more information and to enter the competition visit www.coopervision.co.uk/stories-chair.
