A clinical study of two CooperVision reusable SiH contact lenses used with three lens care solutions.1
For many monthly replacement reusable contact lens wearers, finding the right care regimen for their lenses can be confusing and time-consuming. Ideally, they would like their Eye Care Professional to recommend an optimal combination of lens and lens care product2 and if both are from the same manufacturer then the wearer can be confident of a perfect partnership for comfort, health and vision.
To help you prescribe this perfect combination, we conducted a month-long clinical study with habitual reusable lens wearers – involving two of our reusable SiH contact lenses and three of our lens care solutions:
Study objective and design.
Objective: To compare the clinical performance of Biofinity® and Avaira Vitality® reusable silicone hydrogel contact lenses when used in combination with Hy-Care®, All in One Light® and Refine One Step® solutions. Participants were habitual reusable lens wearers. Cross-comparison on the subjective acceptance and clinical performance:
• Comfort • Satisfaction • Visual acuity
• Lens surface • Lens fit • Slit lamp biomicroscopy
Design: Randomised, open label, crossover study. Each lens and solution combination was used for one month in random sequence.
Prescriber habits.
The study demonstrated that reusable contact lens wearers surveyed agree:
• They would like their Eye Care Professional to recommend or prescribe a care system or a combination to them.2
• Lens care products are important for good comfort, vision and eye health with their contact lenses.2
